The answer to this question is mostly determined by the public consumer vote which leads and drives marketplace demand and determines which businesses become successful and which ones do not. 

The first thing i'm going to say about this is that by the way it's a great question to ask and I'd like to emphasize in BOLD because this points out something interesting.  I have yet to hear from anyone who has commented on this topic where they derived their conclusion based on what "Their customers said".  Does anyone else have any input on this?

You may want to consider ignoring your own personal opinion of what you "think" your consumers want.  After all, you are not purchasing your own products are you?

The truth about the answer to this question is that, if you are answering this question based on how you feel as a business owner about whether or not this makes you more professional or not than the next guy you are, unfortunately, making decisions based on the wrong information because, the individuals who should be giving you the answer to this question are your consumers.

From the consumer standpoint.  If comparing two identical Home Inspectors and one says they have Insurance and the other doesn't.  The one who does not will simply not be hired and the individual who did not have the insurance will be seen as having something that is "missing".  And because, of this "missing" aspect, it can be frequently translated into their level of "professionalism" But here is the kicker.  Have you asked them?  What do your customers say?   Do you really know the answer to this question?

We do know, however, that market conditions over the past several decades have driven consumers to be more selective and scrutinize anyone in the contractor and home improvement fields, much more so than in years before, where you could simply go down the block and trust that "Joe" will do a good job.
